Privacy Policy

Overview

We do not ever distribute any personal information whatsoever. Nor do we track our customers. However, if you subscribe to our newsletter, contact us, leave a comment or make a purchase, your information will be temporarily recorded so that we may better serve you. In other words, we can’t mail a package if we don’t have your address. But, at any time, you may cancel your order, unsubscribe from our newsletter or delete your comment.

That being said, like almost all other websites, we use third-party plug-ins to better serve our customers (like Amazon, Paypal, Google) and they may track your behavior. We don’t have any access to this information other than anonymous aggregated data, like whether a person clicked on one of our advertisements or visited a page. But we don’t know who you are individually.

Note: You can manage your own privacy settings in your web browser, like disabling cookies, or surf in privacy mode. And you can manage your privacy if you have an account with any company. For example, if you have a Google account you can choose your Google privacy settings.

Important note

Any images of people, especially minors, have been reproduced with the legal guardian’s permission. If you think there has been error, please contact us, and we will remedy the situation as soon as possible.

During our research studies, all personal data collected, if any, was destroyed at the end of each study. We had to have permission to do this with our partners and all participants. Our research studies were regulated Internal Review Boards of the partners we worked with.

Who we are

Our website address is: https://Dreamaplay.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

If you contact us, our third-party plugins may collect limited data, like date and time. And, of course, any information you voluntarily submit to us, like your email address. We can’t write you back if we don’t collect your name and email.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics, Bing, and, occasionally, Facebook Pixel to aggregate anonymous data. In other words, we don’t know who anyone is that may visit our website unless they voluntarily reach out to us. This information lets us know who is visiting our website, what pages are most popular and whether or not our advertising is working.

Disclosures

Internet-based advertising

This is what Google says about its internet-based advertising:

Interest-based advertising will allow advertisers to show ads based on a user’s previous interactions with them, such as visits to advertiser website and also to reach users based on their interests (e.g. “sports enthusiast”). To develop interest categories, we will recognize the types of web pages users visit throughout the Google content network. As an example, if they visit a number of sports pages, we will add them to the “sports enthusiast” interest category. As a result of this announcement, your privacy policy will now need to reflect the use of interest-based advertising.

Affiliate Marketing

We don’t participate in any programs that we don’t actually use ourselves. At this time, we have a partnership with Amazon Associates. So, if you click on a link to Amazon, you can assume it is part of the associate program. It helps us keep the lights on. Also according to the operating agreement, I’m required to state the following statement clearly and conspicuously:

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Who we share your data with

No one other than third-party plugins mentioned that the end user voluntarily uses to do things like subscribe to our newsletter.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
