Feel Your Feelings

Hardcover picture book.

Feel Your Feelings introduces children to basic emotions with fun poems that they can act out from head to toe and then let go. They will learn that emotions are our friends. Some emotions show us what we love, others protect us from harm, and all of them put together, like colors on an artist’s palette, paint a beautiful picture of life.

Feel Your Feeling is a book for a younger audience, 2-7 years old, but Sara and Scott always write books that are fun, inspirational and educational for adults, too. The note to readers at the end of the book explains how the book is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance-based approaches to help kids (and adults) identify, feel, accept and let emotions go.

More about feeling your feelings

These articles expand on the concepts behind the book.

Some emotions show us what we love, others protect us from harm, and as you can see in the rainbow illustration from our book, all of them put together, like colors on an artist’s palette, paint a beautiful picture of life. I’ll explain these ideas below. And, I have a fun challenge for you that I call “the joy of fear.” Learn the 3 reasons why you need emotions

We all know that emotions like love and gratitude are fun and beneficial, but what about emotions like fear, scared and worry? Believe it or not, all our feelings serve a purpose. Feel Your Feelings teaches kids (and adults) how to accept their emotions. Read an excerpt from Feel Your Feelings to learn how fear serves a valuable purpose
